Fantastic afternoon in Glasgow yesterday with Lisa Nicoll Productions recording the opening monologue of my play Prize. Many thanks to Carole Anders for performing the role of Joan. This opportunity was through the Creative Hub.

Delighted that my concrete poem 'mismatched mirroring' came second in the Lilian Brzoska Memorial Poetry Competition, which was organised by Fife Writes and adjudicated by Andy Jackson.

Thrilled that 'Rival Writers' won the Scott and Lawson Short Story Prize 2025 competition, which was run in conjunction with Angus Book Fest .

Had a great time at Dundee Fringe with Dundee Playwrights Group this evening. Huge thanks to Donna, Helen and Rosie for performing my piece. Here's a short video of part of it. The first draft of my play is now complete and I'm hoping to stage it in village halls next year.

Last Monday, I met Gordon Lawrie at Edinburgh International Book Festival to swap books and chat about Friday Flash Fiction. Gordon is the current editor of the website and I will be taking on the voluntary role from January 2026. I was also one of the six judges for their recent competition. Had a great time yesterday being interviewed by George McDermid for the Sonic Museum project. This is a collaboration between Fife Writes and Heids and Herts Scotland.  

  Had a great time yesterday at Battle in the 'Burgh 5 cheering on Team Fission. Exposure made it to the last 8 of the competition, which was an improvement on last year's event. Video shows Exposure winning against Shark bait in the first round of fights. All proceeds from sales of Captain Kit go towards funding replacement parts for the combat robots. Delighted that Captain Kit was commended in the self-published book category at the recent Scottish Association of Writers conference. I also placed 2nd in the 30 minutes TV pilot competition.
